Rising Damp

A large number of older buildings and some new ones! have problems with rising damp. Rising damp can cause flaking paint, peeling wallpaper and musty odours. Not pleasant to live in and certainly not advantageous if you are trying to sell your property.

The treatment is usually damp proofing or damp coursing using a cream injection system.

Penetrating Damp

Damp can penetrate through external walls causing problems internally. Even if the damp doesn’t penetrate right through the wall it can still damage your property causing moss growth, frost damage and heat loss.

Treatment options include applying water repellents to exterior walls. In more exposed locations or where large cracks are present in the walls a damp proof membrane covered by render can be used.

Damp Proofing Floors

There are two options for the treatment of damp rising through concrete or stone floors . Epoxy floor coating can be applied directly to damp floors. Or cases where the floor is affected by contaminates damp-proofing membrane can be laid with minimal preparation.
